The Hyper Hop is Covington’s biggest Gallery Hop, with last year’s participating venues open for the public to visit and explore reaching 40. Each venue will have either original artwork or something creative for their visitors. Some venues will offer discounted prices on their inventory to visitors. Each of the businesses will make a special effort to welcome visitors to their space all in the name of celebrating Creativity on this evening. Visitors will be able to walk from venue to venue and explore downtown Covington and its offerings; most venues are from walking distance to another and there will be docents on hand to guide visitors from place to place. Last year the event attracted about 750 people to the downtown area. There will be ‘Anchor’ venues that act as General Starting points for visitors; these will be announced later in September. Every participating business will have the official Hyper Hop map available, so really, it doesn’t matter where you start, just start hopping and discover YOUR downtown!
